4th ANNUAL TBOF CHARITY SHOOT
A message from the President:

Thank you  Dick Giles and the fine folks of Hog County Archers for volunteering to hold the 4th Annual TBOF Charity at your range and allow the use of your targets and facilities.

After all the numbers were in a total of $5218.24 was raised for the TBOF archery program at Boggy Creek. This represents a significant increase over last years event and will allow us to do some special things for the kids attending our Archery Sessions at The Boggy Creek Gang Camp and R.O.C.K. Camp during the 2000 calendar year. I would like to thank all of you that attended and contributed to this event.

  • Of special note is the Manley Knife donated by Buddy Manley. This knife brought in $800.00 alone. Buddy not only donated the knife, but also sold tickets.
  • Tony Wolfe brought a bow donated by Bear archery and donated 8 3-D targets for the silent auction.
  • Jeff Dodd brought a bow donated by Chek-Mate,
  • Ron Weatherman brought a tree stand donated by Warren & Sweat,
  • Johnny Smith donated a tree stand,
  • Eddie Pfund donated a treestand,
  • Bear Archery donated a Grizzly Bow,
  • Paula and Cecil Driskoll of Rogue River donated two bows for the raffle and another twelve for the kids to use at camp!
There were many other items generously donated. Knives, quivers, arrows, bow holders and even maple syrup brought fresh from Vermont by Vernon and Rebecca Blitch who drove down here to attend this shoot and visit with their TBOF friends.

We had some unusual trophies made by Joni McCormick using an idea that Debra Giles had about the R.O.C.K. Camp theme. That’s right, they were rocks. Thanks to Rich Nichol for donating the rocks and to Joni for making them look good.

Martha Varney won the long shot buffalo, yep, she beat the boy's too, and when she was presented with he winnings ($64.00) she donated it right back to the kids. No hesitation at all! Thanks Martha!

A special thanks to all of you for your support and attendance of such a worthy cause. Your kind donations will make many a smiling face in the up-coming year. Thank You! I would also like to mention the fact that The Boggy Creek Gang Camp sent a representative to this years shoot. Her name was Terri Chastain and she presented TBOF members with a plaque to show their appreciation for all we are doing for the kids at Boggy Creek. She also told us that another plaque is going to be permanently placed in the archery area at Boggy Creek to let all visitors know who we are and what we are doing for the children of Boggy Creek and R.O.C.K. Camp. I would like to thank Terri for the long drive she put in to attend our shoot and for being the good sport she was by helping us take down targets at the end of the day in the dark.

John
