Shoot Classifications Defined

Cub Class (1-11 years) may use any traditional bow and arrow combination to compete.
  • Youth Class (12-15 years) may compete using any traditional bow and arrow combination. 
All adult men and women archers (16 years of age and older) shall be placed in one of the five classes outlined below
  • New August of 2024- At  the March 1st, 2024 meeting, The Board approved the Following Changes:

Senior Class-  New Shooting Class. It is for 70 and older, Men and Women together. Any bow, Any arrow.
 
OPEN CLASS- If your Bow contains 1 or more of the following, You will shoot in the open class.
 
1. A draw check or clicker device mounted or attached to any part of the bow.
2. A flipper or any type of mechanical rest. (Bear Weather or Turkey Feather rest are excluded.)
3. An adjustable plunger.  (Spring or Magnetic)
4. String Walking and Face Walking are permitted in this class.
5. Weights may be added to the lower part of the riser. Weights regardless of shape must mount directly to the riser without rods, or extensions.
6. No sights or sighting aids of any kind are allowed.
7. A rest and plunger are all that are allowed within the sight window.
8. Youth and Cub classes are exempt from this rule.
 
This additional class will begin at the Fall Rendezvous, August 2024, Initially, Men and Women will compete together. If we grow enough participants, We will split the class.



  • Primitive Class Shooters in this class will shoot a longbow, recurve or flatbow that does not contain fiberglass or carbon laminations in its working limbs. Epoxy or other synthetic adhesives are permitted on laminated bows. Only wood arrows may be used in the primitive class. Only self-nocked arrows may be used. 
  • Longbow Class Competitive archers will shoot a longbow or flatbow that when braced, does not allow the string to contact the face of the bow. This class permits wood arrows only for competitions. 
  • Traditional Class Recurves, longbows, flatbows and primitive bows of any design are permitted in this class. Any type of arrow may be used. 

Compound bows, sights, stabilizers (including add on weights) and release aids (with the exception of gloves, finger tabs, finger stalls, thumb rings and clickers) are not permitted.
One finger of the archer’s string hand must touch the arrow knock or knock point during the shot, string walking is not permitted
